ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Renowned as “the high priests of brass” (Newsweek), the American Brass Quintet (ABQ) has set the gold standard for brass chamber music since its founding in 1960. With a legacy spanning over six decades, ABQ has captivated audiences across five continents, premiering more than 150 contemporary works and releasing nearly 60 recordings that have redefined the brass repertoire.

ABOUT THE CONCERT SPONSOR - Joe Kahn has been a CMR supporter, board member and local music critic since 1973. He currently serves as the Vice-Chair of the company's Board of Directors and is professor emeritus of biochemistry from North Carolina State University. For ten years he hosted a classical music request program on Raleigh’s all-classical radio station WCPE. Joe also writes the programs notes for all of Chamber Music Raleigh's concerts.
