The Washington Post
Sergey Antonov was hailed as “a brilliant cellist” by Mstislav Rostropovich and went on to become one of the youngest cellists ever awarded the gold medal at the International Tchaikovsky Competition. He has appeared at major venues around the world, including the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory and Suntory Hall in Tokyo. His international career has taken him across Europe, Asia, North America, and the Middle East, with collaborations alongside conductors including Yuri Simonov, Maxim Vengerov, Mikhail Pletnev, Yuri Bashmet, and Yan Pascal Tortelier.
Now entering its second decade, the United States-based ensemble has become one of the world’s leading piano trios, earning multiple Grammy Award nominations.
Known for performances that combine Russian intensity, elegant ensemble playing, and expansive emotional range, the Hermitage Piano Trio has toured widely and recorded acclaimed albums including Rachmaninoff and Spanish Impressions. For this Sights & Sounds on Sundays performance, the trio offers an afternoon of richly expressive chamber music in the intimate setting of NCMA’s SECU Auditorium.
Misha Keylin made his Carnegie Hall debut at age 11 and has since earned international acclaim for his exuberant musicality, interpretive insight, and rare tonal beauty. He has performed in 45 countries on five continents, appeared as soloist with major orchestras around the world, and received wide praise for his Naxos recordings of the complete violin concertos and showpieces of Henri Vieuxtemps.
